It’s the weekend, y’all!
Today I will be joined by my husband, kids, and several cousins, aunts and uncles as we participate in the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. For 24 hours straight, one of us will be walking the track at a local high school, through the heat of the day (expected high: 90 degrees! 😐 ) and the dark of night.
My Abuelita, who was the first person I lost to cancer, died 11 years ago yesterday. I will be walking in her memory, in my Grandpa’s (Gloria’s dad’s) memory, and in memory of our musicteacherk’s husband, A. It wil be my honor to walk for six of the 24 hours. Send me all your blister-free, light on my feet vibes, please! And if you’d like to contribute to our team, no matter how small the amount, your support would mean the world to me.
To those who have already donated: thank you from the bottom of my heart! Each and every contribution made me smile from ear to ear.
I’m guessing I will spend much of the day tomorrow collapsed and dozing on the couch. 😛
What are you up to on this fine spring weekend? Any fun plans? Chat away!
