Happy Tuesday, y’all!
I’m happy to report that my 20th reunion was a huge success. Everyone had a blast and as part of the reunion committee, I received praise and compliments all night on the venue, the atmosphere, the entertainment, you name it. Even DH got into the spirit and had a good time meeting my old friends. We had Aztec dancers and a belly dancer and old school music and a photo booth. There was a cigar roller and tequila samples and a tasty buffet. Even the weather was perfect for a nighttime yacht cruise, warm enough not to need a jacket when on the top deck.
My favorite thing about planning the reunion was reestablishing friendships and even making new ones. I also have newfound appreciation for my hometown and my high school. We share a sense of pride and community that I’ve realized is pretty rare.
There’s talk of planning a reunion every five years from now on since this one proved such a success. We’ll see if there’s follow through, but this was a lovely chance to reminisce and reconnect.
Sunday morning we rushed home to take the kids to a Star Wars themed birthday party. They had characters dressed as Luke, Leia and Darth Vader lead the kids through a Jedi training academy and they each took home a light saber. It was seriously fun and very impressive, and the kids were rapt. No idea what it cost, but it was money well spent!
What are some of the most fun or unique kids’ parties you’ve attended?
