Here’s a picture of DD with Mulan, Disney’s most feminist princess, according to a ranking by Nerve.com.
I have a soft spot for Tiana, myself. She grew up poor, fatherless and yet ambitious as hell. She doesn’t suffer fools gladly, and basically saves a prince instead of the other way around. Her goal is not to find a man: it’s to open her own restaurant and in the end, she does, and even names the place after herself. YOU GO, GIRL.
Other faves in our house include the bookish Belle and feisty Rapunzel. And even Ariel, despite the fact she gives up everything she knows for a man she has never even met! And did I mention she is only 16?! Hmph.
Do you agree or disagree with these rankings? Who’s your favorite princess?
What are you up to this weekend? We are still immersed in home remodeling hell, but our contractor is so wonderful he has agreed to come to work on a Saturday, all so the framing can be ready for initial inspection on Monday morning. So we will spend our day looking for reasons to stay out of the house and away from the noise and dust. I am thinking gym, sofa shopping, then off to get acquainted with Disney’s newest princess: Brave 😛
