I first discovered MotherTalkers via DailyKos awhile back. I love the topics and different opinions/advice that everyone shares without vitriol or judging. I read the blog entries, and always wanted to chime in with my life experiences. So allow me to introduce myself, MotherTalkers.
I am 36 years old, and have three children; 2 girls ages 12 and 13, and my son who is 5. My husband and I married young by today’s standards, and had our first child when I was 22. I have been both a working Mom and stay at home Mom. I have a very close relationship with my mother, and my MIL is wonderful (although, not so much in the beginning). I love politics, reading, cooking, and sports, to name a few of my interests. Both of my girls’ are becoming young women, and it is a struggle to raise them in this culture. It was so much easier when they were babies/toddlers! My son will be starting kindergarden this fall, and I can’t believe he is already 5. I admit to spoiling him because I know he is my last one.
Anyhow, there have been many times when I wanted to post my experiences on this site. The biter/bitee issue, too long on the bottle,MIL, potty training, etc. I could personally relate to each and every topic that is discussed.
