What’s up?

Thanks to activism around food safety, Kraft has decided to remove dyes No. 5 and 6 from their cartoon-themed mac n’ cheese products. Unfortunately, it still won’t do so for its signature elbow-shaped mac n’ cheese products, which by the way, are not sold in Europe. Instead, to meet European Union food regulations, Kraft uses beta carotene and paprika to color their mac ‘n cheese there.

Katrina Alcorn, author of Maxed Out: American Moms on the Brink and publisher of the Working Moms Break blog, gave an excellent interview to MSNBC:

In belated personal news: Halloween in Berkeley is such a big deal that I plan to take it off next year. Between two school concerts, dressing up and trick or tricking in tricked out homes — it leaves no time for anything else. Here is video that I took at a heavily made up home we stop at every year:

This past Saturday was Día de los Muertos…and Ari’s 10th birthday! DH and I had a school charity ride and Eli had a soccer game. We are going to celebrate his birthday this Saturday with a sleepover with bff Jude and the boys in his class.

That said, he did get to open up presents from family on his actual birthday. He got right to work on his brand new Star Wars lego set.

What else is in the news? What’s up with you?
