What’s up?

I was honored to be included in the We Belong Together women coalition’s “Fedoras for Fairness” campaign, which was written up in the New York Times, Politico and other places.

The fedora is a metaphor for the many hats that women wear, and in this case, it’s being called a “fairdora” as the wearers are asking Congress to treat immigrant women and families fairly in any comprehensive immigration reform bill. The good news is that we all wear many hats and we can all show our support for a good immigration reform bill by being photographed with a fedora. If you are inspired, please take a photo of yourself wearing a fedora — or “fairdora”! — and tweet it to #Fairdora. You can also follow We Belong Together on Facebook for other actions.

Thank you!

Also, thank you to those who signed a petition to save the life of Beatriz, a woman in El Salvador in need of a life-saving c-section. She did, indeed, receive it after two weeks of suffering and is now in stable condition. Here is Amnesty International’s statement on it.

What else is in the news? What’s up with you?
