Celeb Tidbits

February 4, 2006

In the brow-raising celebrity gossip corner, cyclist Lance Armstrong and rocker Sheryl Crow called it quits after two years of dating and a five-month engagement. While People magazine offered no reason for the split, it would have been Armstrong’s second marriage and Crow’s first at the age of 43. The couple shares a ranch in Austin, Texas and had expected to live in it after the wedding.

Also making a trip down Splitsville are actress Heather Locklear and former Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora. Locklear cited “irreconcilable differences” in the divorce papers. Divorce, of course, is not a shocking revelation in Hollywood, but Locklear gets high marks for marital longetivity: She was married to Sambora for 11 years. Her first marriage to former Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee lasted 8 years, according to People.

Finally, Suzanne Hansen, author of “You’ll Never Nanny in This Town Again! — The True Adventures of a Hollywood Nanny” apologized to Nicole Kidman for saying that the actress doesn’t spend enough time with her children. While this AP report doesn’t say where Hansen made her claim, Kidman was forced to answer to it by a reporter at the United Nations where she was recently named a goodwill ambassador.

Kidman called the allegation “offensive”. Hansen admitted that she never worked for Kidman and actually got her information from another nanny. Hmm…hopefully that is not the way she collected data for her book. Paging James Frey
