Here’s one for the music lovers. The National Review recently released its list of the 50 greatest conservative rock songs. View it yourself here:
Sorry if the link doesn’t do the job (I’m not sure how to make that happen), but cut & paste or Google will work. It’s pretty amusing to see convservatives picking one or two lyrics out of a song and claiming that it represents true conservative values. And what are those values, you may ask? The essay that introduces the list says:
“The lyrics must convey a conservative idea or sentiment, such as skepticism of the government…”
Which you know liberals are thoroughly against! The justification for the choices can be downright bizarre, such as this one for “Janie’s Got a Gun” by Aerosmith:
“Proves the right to bear arms can protect women from sexual predators.”
And, as has been noted by comments on blogs concerning the list, not one Ted Nugent song! The humanity!
